WhatsApp Calling Feature Coming to iOS, Here’s How to Install
WhatsApp calling feature is coming to iOS and will allow users to make free calls, similar to Viber and Skype. Co-founder Brian Acton has said that this feature will be released in a short while but we have yet to know when.
Android users have already got a taste of this feature. So if you are an iOS user but can’t wait for this feature to arrive, here’s how you can get WhatsApp calling on iOS.
But there is a catch, the following procedure will only work if your iPhone is cracked/jailbroken. I can’t advise you to jailbreak your phone but if it already is, you can get the beta version of WhatsApp calling feature through a Cydia tweak.
Step 1: You must first visit the link here, and download WhatsApp beta 18.104.22.168.
Step 2: Once that’s done, you must add http://apt.imokhles.com/ repository to Cydia sources after launching it.
Step 3: After iMokhles repository is added, go ahead and install WhatsAppCallEnabler and enable it through settings.
Step 4: This one is the tricky part. You must start WhatsApp and send a message to someone who has this feature enabled and ask them to call you to enable this feature.
Those who don’t want to use Cydia can also get WhatsApp Calling without it. Here’s how:
Step 1: Download the beta version.
Step 2: Ask a friend to give you call to activate this feature. Post the call and voila, you’re all set.
I prefer the second method by the way. WhatsApp Calling has been anticipated for a while and it’s good to know Facebook will soon make it available. However, we aren’t yet given a release date for its arrival on iOS, Android and Windows Phone.
Hopefully, creators won’t keep us waiting for long.
