HTC One M9’s Release Date Is Here But For Taiwan Only
There has been many rumors circulating around the Internet about HTC One M9’s potential release date. The Taiwanese company announced that it would be released in mid-March, but a specific date was not mentioned. Recently, a popular online retailer B&H listed One M9 on its website and mentioned the release date to be March 26th.
Now, a Taiwanese site ePrice is reporting that HTC One M9 will be available in two models based on storage, and it will arrive on March 16th. According to the Taiwanese site, One M9 will be released in two different version — a 32GB model (as announced at MWC in Barcelona), and a 64GB model. Both of them will arrive on the same day i.e. March 16th.
They are reporting that the availability and price is confirmed by HTC North Asia general manager Dong Junliang. The price tag given to One M9 is 21,900 TWD (or $693) for 32GB model and 23,900 TWD (or $756) for 64GB.
According to BGR, HTC One M9 should hit carrier stores on March 23rd.
It yet not clear whether these dates apply to international markets or are these dates for Taiwan only.
HTC unveiled its latest flagship on MWC 2015 in Barcelona where it didn’t attract as much audience as Samsung’s Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge did. Many believed One M9 was just a refinement of its predecessor One M8. On the contrary, Samsung’s new smartphones were hailed for new design features and powerful specs.
Samsung will launch Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge simultaneously in international markets on April 10th.
However, HTC One M8 was loved by many consumers and still many are interested in getting their hands on One M9. M9’s design is preferred by some consumers over Samsung’s, and it also features strong specs such as the anticipated Snapdragon 810 chip which was reported to be used by Samsung in Galaxy S6 but then was dropped. The One M9’s processor is on par with Samsung’s latest Exynos processor, at least on paper.
