New Source Reveals HTC One M9 Release Date and Price
The Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC announced its flagship of 2015, One M9, at this year’s Mobile World Congress. What the company didn’t mention in the announcement was its release date and pricing. Many believed that One M9 would launch the same day as the announcement, following the strategy of predecessor One M8. But HTC didn’t do that this time.
The only official confirmation HTC made was that One M9 will arrive in “mid-March.” This was all we had so far, and no carriers had announced an actual release date either.
However, a new leak has surfaced that has mentioned the details about pricing and availability of HTC One M9. The popular online retailer B&H listed it for $649, and claimed the release date is March 25th.
B&H put online a pre-order page for HTC One M9 that showed the price tag of $649, but no carrier details were revealed at the page. The page has since been removed so it is possible that this date was not an actual one. There is also a possibility that they were just creating a page for HTC’s flagship to put online once the official dates are announced.
Note that when HTC announced the phone at MWC this month, it gave One M9 the price tag of $599. However, carriers are listing the product with the price tag of $649. For example, Best Buy leak showed the same price tag of $649 the day before One M9 was announced.
Despite the fact that two sources — Best Buy and B&H — have mentioned One M9’s price to be $649, HTC is still claiming the smartphone to be worth $599 at its official giveaway terms and conditions page.
As for the release date, the official confirmation is yet to be made. All major carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint will be offering this smartphone once they get their hands on it. But all of these US carriers as well as small carriers from different regions are shy about disclosing the release date for One M8’s successor.
But as long as HTC’s word is concerned, One M9 will arrive no later than March but before the end of this month. Hence, we have just got to wait for may be two weeks until we get to see the anticipated One M9 running Snapdragon 810 chip.
