Apple to Add 2GB RAM to iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus (RUMOR)
Apple might not be willing to shed light on the future of iPhone i.e. iPhone 6S, but the industry seems to have a good grip over the insiders, one of whom has decided to let us in on some details.
If a report from AppleInsider is to be believed, the upcoming flagship phone from the company is going to feature twice the RAM as the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus!
Apparently, an insider who is in a position to know the future plan of Apple has revealed, that the upcoming iPhone 6S, and Plus, are both going to have 2GB of RAM.
The source in question has remained anonymous, but that is something you would expect from someone sharing inside information so long before it is time. However, AppleInsider suggests that the source is legit because they have relied on him/her in the past and the information provided has been more or less accurate.
So yeah, while it is not official, the source is tested!
That being said, if you look at the pattern in the past, it would also make sense for the RAM to be doubled up. I say that because recently the RAM size of Apple Air 2 was upgraded to 2GB. In the past, when they upgraded the RAM for their third generation iPads back in 2012, it was followed, within the next six months, by a similar announcement for the then upcoming iPhone 5.
Prior to that, the iPhone 4S has a 512MB RAM just like the iPad models before the announcement. Hencee, the upgrade would make sense if they are to follow the pattern.
There is another bit of information that was shared by the same source; according to him/her the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are both going to come with a pre-installed Apple SIM. This will let the users choose from a variety of carriers on the go.
Again, this could follow the pattern because iPad Air 2 is also going to be the first iPad to bring forth a pre-installed Apple SIM.
So what do you think? How much of a boost will the 2GB RAM give to your gaming experience?
