Just How Similar are Galaxy S6 and iPhone?
After months of rumours, leaks and speculations, we finally have an official announcement regarding the new Galaxy S6 and its Edge counterpart. Since the announcement, there have been an ongoing debate on the similarities between the Galaxy S6 and Apple’s iPhone 6.
Just by looking at the new smartphone from Samsung, you can sense the presence of iPhone 6. Samsung no doubt took some inspiration of iPhone’s design which Apple may not be too happy about. The Battle between Apple and Samsung has been going on for many years, the companies try their best to be in front and the new phone is an example that these industry giants aren’t afraid to borrow some ideas from one another.
Galaxy S6 is unlike any other S series phones and is huge improvement over Galaxy S5. Similar to iPhone 6, S6 will feature a non-removable battery (2,550mAh). Also, no external storage is offered to users by S6 or S6 Edge. When it comes to design, it’s heavily influenced by iPhone 6, but it might just be the most gorgeous device Samsung has ever made.
The plastic body has been put on ice in favor of metal. Again, similar to iPhone 6, Samsung has shifted the headphone jack to the bottom of the phone. There is no longer a cover on the USB port and the speaker is now found on the bottom of the device, mirroring Apple’s latest.
If that wasn’t enough, even the speaker grill holes are pretty similar in design. The S6 looks like Samsung’s take on the iPhone 6. Not that it’s a bad thing, it’s just really interesting. The design changes have actually improved build quality as well.
The debate of the similarities between the two flagship phones can go on forever. However, it’s better to just avoid fanboy debates and enjoy the gorgeous device, which is Samsung Galaxy S6.
