LG G Flex 2 Will Be Sold By Sprint on March 13 – Here’s Why It’s a Must Have
Let’s get this out of the way, LG G Flex wasn’t the best smartphone and was criticized by some for its unconventional design. I even heard someone comparing it to a banana. However, the original G Flex still managed to built enough fan following for LG to consider an upgrade, the LG G Flex 2.
Compared to G Flex, the new smartphone is faster, and has a better design and display. These features will definitely be welcomed by loyal fans and those interested to give the new phone a try. The banana design of LG G Flex 2 will help it survive the brutality of your back pocket, which other expensive smartphones won’t. Hey, who can forget the iPhone 6 Plus taking a curved shape when put it pockets. Hmmm… maybe it was trying to indicate that curve design is the future.
This time LG went with a 5.5-inch screen rather than 6-inches used in the previous phone. However, that has its own benefit when combined with its curved design. Compared to some other big name flat competitors of G Flex 2, it’s easier to reach the top of the screen and corners with one hand.
One of the top qualities of G FLex 2 is durability. It bends and features a scratch resistant body. It also comes with something called “Self Healing Technology,” which according to LG will iron-out minor scratches.
LG is also ditching the old 720 resolution in favor of the 1080p which is used by most top-tier smartphones. Moreover, it’s one of the first smartphones to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. The volume control and power button are still where they were before, below the 13MP camera. Which is totally fine as it makes the edges seem thin and nice.
The camera is similar to the one used in LG G3, with optical image stabilization and laser autofocus. As for detailed specs, here’s what you’re getting:
- Network Support: AT&T, Sprint, U.S. Cellular
- OS: Lollipop 5.0 with Optimus UI
- CPU: Snapdragon 810 2.0GHz 64-bit octo-core
- Screen: 5.5-inch Full HD Super OLED
- RAM: 2GB
- Storage: 32GB with micro SD up to 2TB
- Camera: 13MP rear – 2.1MP front
- Battery: 3000 mAh – non-removable
If those aren’t reasons enough to buy this phone, I don’t know what is. Lastly, LG has announced that the new smarphone will be available starting March 13 at Sprint.
