Report: Stability And Optimization Will be the Major Features For Apple’s iOS 9
Apple’s iOS 9 is in the planning phase now, and according to new reports, the company will have a “directed focus” on stabilizing and optimizing of this next generation of its mobile OS.
iOS 9 which will be an advancement over all of Apple’s previous operating systems, is going to be designed with a special focus on the the enhancement of its performance instead of features, 9to5Mac reported. But the question is whether ‘performance’ needed a special focus for company who has been virtually dominating the whole smartphone market for past few years?
Probably, the chief force behind its decision of limiting the new operating system merely to the motive of performance was the huge number of complaints from users against its operating system. Customers have been complaining about many of the new features including the Touch ID, finger print scanner etc.
Otherwise, since 2007, Apple has been coming up with new devices and each time with additional features. For example in 2013, iOS user interface underwent a complete revamping process. In 2014, it bettered UI design with iOS 8 and debuted services like that of Health and Apple pay.
The current OS has also been a reason behind the huge sales of its iPhones, while it would lay out a foundation for its smart watch too. But how things will go with iOS 9, is a phenomenon yet to be observed.
Moving further, iOS 9, codenamed Monarch, is basically meant to address the users and customers’ concerns regarding the previous versions of Apple’s operating systems. According to various sources, the engineers on the project are putting a “huge” focus on rectifying the problems such as bugs, and are endeavoring for higher stability of the OS against viruses and so on.
In a nutshell, the performance has become the focal point for Apple in case of iOS 9. In addition to the fixation of bugs and boost of performance, the Cupertino is seriously thinking to decrease the memory bite of iOS 8’s updates – a complaint which took the iPhone maker to courts as well.
Despite this overwhelming sort of debate of better performance on the existing features, I can assure you it will also have something new in it. To say, Transit and Indoor mapping modes are among the features Apple has been working on for years. So it can be expected that along with better performance iPhone fans will be provided with something novel, as they are kind of habitual now.
