Samsung Galaxy S6 Leaked Image Suggests 5 Different Versions
For a while Samsung has done a pretty decent job on keeping things under wraps when it comes to Galaxy S6. The new smartphone is expected come into light on March 1, but it seems Samsung could no longer keep things quiet.
Courtesy of a major leak, we may now have our first look at the new Samsung Galaxy S6 along with Galaxy S6 Edge. The image was leaked by CNET Korea and was obtained through “a South Korean electronics distributor.” The image you see shows 5 different versions, two of which are said to be Galaxy S6 Edge while the other three are standard Galaxy S6.
Similar to Apple’s iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, it seems Samsung is also planning to introduce two variants of the Galaxy S6 this year.
On the far left, you can see the gorgeous flat backed S6 while to the far right you can see the edge version of S6. Two of the phones in the picture are in protective covers, made by the popular South Korean smartphone cover maker Verun.
If you look a bit closer to the edge model, it looks like Samsung is gunning for duel-edge version. The picture confirms thinner design but it’s unclear if Samsung will ditch plastic and go for a metal body. However, outer rims are metal, similar to the previous S5 model.
One source claims that South Korean case makers have already begun mass production on cases for Samsung Galaxy S6 and its edged counterpart, based on molds provided by Samsung.
Another source has also confirmed one of the S6 models to be dual edged claiming that these sides will be symmetrical. It’s unclear how, but reports are that S6 models will use aluminum in their construction.
Over the past few months, rumors about the specs of Samsung Galaxy S6 have also been flying around the Internet. These suggest that the new phone will feature a 20 MP camera, quad HD display, 128GB internal storage, 64-bit octa core processor and a payment plan similar to Apple Pay.
Samsung has a lot riding on the success of the S6 and it could potentially improve the company’s sluggish smartphone division.
Samsung or Verun have denied to comment on this leak and it’s unlikely they will say anything until March 1. On that day, Samsung is holding an event called Samsung Unpacked 2015. Exciting news is expected and we’ll keep you updated on every development.
