Tinder’s Premium Version With Undo Button and Location Change Coming to U.S. Next Month
The popular dating app Tinder plans to make its paid version, Tinder Plus, available to users residing in US the next month. Tinder updated the app info text on both iOS and Android app stores, hinting soon arrival of its two new features.
One of the two features is Undo button, which lets you go back to the people you have just swiped on, while the other feature is Passport that allows you to search outside of your geographical region.
Tinder has confirmed to TechCrunch that the paid version is not yet ready to roll out in US, and that the text on app stores will be updated soon to reflect this. The company told that expected launch date for US is mid-to-late March.
Note that Tinder Plus has already been tested in select countries but is now about to launch in the US. That is why the app info at the Apple’s App Store and Google Play continues to show the two new features, which is confusing for the US users.
However, the text on the App Store has now been edited.
Tinder Plus was announced in November. The company said that it will offer the new features along with a price tag. These two features were added as a result of high demand from the users. Here is what we know about these new offerings in the paid version:
Undo Button – Take back your last swipe
Many people reported that they accidentally swiped left on some people and wanted to go back, but the lack of back or undo button was a source of regret. Sean Rad, co-founder of Tinder, said that this feature was “absolutely at the top of the list.”
Having an Undo button on Tinder might allow someone to go back and find that long-lost love.
The Undo button is found on Home screen in yellow color to the Tinder Plus users.
Passport – Change you location to match with people around the world
If you travel a lot and want to find Tinder users beforehand in the region you are traveling to, this feature will let you do that. Using Passport, users can perform searches in another region without having to actually travel to that region.
Passport button appears to the far right on Home screen.
Tinder Plus was rolled out for testing purposes in UK, Brazil and Germany allowing only 40 percent of the users access to the new features. The testing is still going on and Tinder is experimenting with different price points — $0.99 to $19.99 — to find out how much users are willing to pay for new features.
Tinder has revealed that it plans to add more features in the future, based on the user feedback.
