Verizon Will Not Offer Data Rollover Plan
Verizon has always come up with its own goods and services that made the firm the leader in the wireless carrier market. The company wants to keep the things the same way as its Chief Financial Officer Fran Shammo stated that the company will not offer data rollover programs that are being offered by T-Mobile and AT&T.
He said that Verizon is a leader in the wireless carrier niche and will not start offering small promotional schemes just because some of the consumers want it or if their competition is doing it.
“We’re a leader, not a follower. We did not go to places where we did not financially want to go to save a customer,” Shammo said. “And there’s going to be certain customers who leave us for price, and we are just not going to compete with that because it doesn’t make financial sense for us to do that.
Verizon did face some setback during the fourth quarter earnings after its customer turnover rate tick up and its profitability fell because of the competition offering new plans. However, that doesn’t seem to bother the company too much which is quite clear from the statements made by the CFO.
That’s not all though, as Shammo stated that Verizon is not even looking to follow T-Mobile and Sprint with the wireless service that is reportedly in works at the famous search engine, Google.
Shammo said that this wireless service from Google is just another example of company ‘stirring the pot.’ He refused to comment any further on the service until he has seen the business model of the company for the project.
Shammo stated that he and his company is well aware of the competition that Google can bring to the table and can cause disruption in the market, but there are so many other wireless resellers as well, and Verizon cannot just focus on one organization, as it needs to be aware of the strategies of all of its competitors.
Meanwhile, Verizon will just focus on its own strategies and bring the best services available to the consumers that are still using Verizon. What do you think of the statements made by Shammo? Share your opinion on the matter with us in the comments section below.
