Amazon Planning To Partner Up With Annapurna Labs For $350 Million
Amazon is the company that is always looking to expand its footings all over the world. The E-commerce has been searching for a Data Center in Israel for quite some time, and now it looks like that it has found its match. The company is called Annapurna Labs, which came into being in 2011, but not a lot has been shared regarding the organization since then.
Not much detail has been provided on the product that is currently in works at Annapurna Labs, but they did say that it is “changing the way platforms will be designed and we are having a great time doing it.” One of the sources of ZDNet, who possesses the knowledge of this mysterious organization stated that it is working on to create communication system and processing platforms for data centers.
The source continued on to explain how making this deal will help the people at Amazon:
Amazon now runs some of the biggest datacenters in the world, and they are constantly looking for faster and more efficient ways to enable their customers to use their services. This acquisition makes a lot of sense for them.
Other than that, there are different reports coming out that are claiming that this deal between the two companies will cost about $350 million. However, no official word on this has been provided by either Amazon or Annapurna Labs, but that might change soon, if the reports of the deal gone through are indeed true.
Although, there isn’t a lot of information available on the Annapurna Labs, but its CEO named as Avigdor Willenz, has made quite a name for himself over the years. He is regarded as one of the most successful semi-conductor entrepreneurs, as he sold Galileo to Marvell Technologies in 2000 for $2.7 billion.
Things are looking up for Willenz and his company, and if this deal goes through, I am sure that Amazon will be enjoying the similar amount of success that Marvell Technologies has got.
Amazon went to Israel last year where they opened up their local office, and this seems like a break that the company was actually looking for when it first arrived on the scene. Hopefully, we will get an official announcement of the deal soon.
Currently, this is all we have to share with you regarding this deal, but we will keep you posted if there’s any development in the matter. What is your take on all this? Don’t forget to share your opinion with us in the comments below!
