Acer Targets the Education Market with Two New Chromebooks
Chromebooks have their own limitations, so they’re not suitable for everyone. Keeping it in mind, Acer has announced two new Chromebooks that are specially designed for the educational field, meaning their target demographic is students.
Youngsters are often careless about their belongings. The gadgets they own, truly go through the test of time and suffer punishments such as bumps and drops, on a daily basis. In short, this audience is unforgiving!
So the question is, can Acer’s new Chromebooks survive among these talented but savage creatures? The company seems to think so.
The first model we’ll talk about is the 11.6-inch Acer C740. This is a portable model, that comes with reinforced hinges and can bear 60 Kg of force with a smiling face.
The C740 comes with a 1,366 x 768 display and 16GB of storage space. Interested parties can get this model with either a 2GB or 4GB of RAM. Based on the configuration you choose, users can either put in an Intel Broadwell-based Celeron or Core i3 processor.
According to your choice of configuration, the price will vary, but the base model can be yours for $260.
The other model is Acer C910, same is the case with this model and it will also come with a choice between Intel Broadwell-based Celeron or Core i3 processor. Just like C740, this model also features reinforced hinges.
But users won’t have any choice when it comes to RAM, as you can only get 4GB. While C740 only comes with 16GB of storage, users have the choice between 16GB and 32GB, when it comes to C910. Resolution is also higher in C910 as it features full 1080p display.
Once again, price will vary depending on your choice of configurations, but the base model will be available for $299.
Acer is planning to release their educational line of Chromebooks sometime in February but a solid release day is yet to be confirmed by the company. We’ll keep you updated on the developments regarding the release date.
