LG G4 Smartphone Release Date, News and Rumours
LG has been both innovative and creative with their G2 and G3 smartphones. That’s one of the reasons expectations from G4 are high and users are super-excited for its eventual release.
LG is yet to announce a release date for the device, but fans want to know when will they announce something? My best guess is Mobile World Congress Barcelona. The event will kick-off in early March and LG is expected to be there with its latest in G series of handsets.
Looking at the announcement trends and considering that LG has shared G series news at the event in the past, this prediction seems to have some weight.
As for the specs of the phone, nothing concrete has been shared by LG but rumors have been flying around and we have gathered them below to give you some idea of what the final product will look like.
G4’s predecessor had impressive build quality and same is expected from G4 as well. The device will probably have a bazel free edge-to-edge display, if rumors are to be believed. What gives weight to this information, is that LG recently showed a 5.3-inch LCD panel, with full HD and a 0.7mm bezel.
This makes bazel narrower even in comparison to a credit card and according to LG, the technology which fully seals the edges is named Neo Edge.
What’s almost certain is that G4 is going to be released with latest Android version, and that’s Lollipop. As for the processor, the device could feature the next-generation of Qualcomm Snapdragon. Recently at CES 2015, LG unveiled the G Flex 2 whicg included the 64-bit 810 chip.
With that said, rumors suggest LG’s proprietary Nuclun processor could be the one in G4. Nuclun is an octa-core SOC, that features LTE-A Cat 6 network capabilities. In theory, that means it will offer upto 300MB speed for 4G users.
Nothing much is known about the design of LG G4 but with Apple, HTC and Samsung going with metal bodies for many of their handsets, will LG choose to go down that road? It can’t be said for sure.
When it comes to camera, both optical image stabilisation and laser autofocus are expected to make a return in G4. The resolution will also be increased and should wind-up somewhere close to 4K and 60fps, too much to ask? G3’s camera was pretty impressive and was 13-megapixel, some rumors suggest that the successor will feature a 16MP camera.
So there you have it, those were the ongoing rumors and speculations about the LG G4. We’ll update the article if more of these come our way.
