Stephen Fry Signs Off Twitter Because Of ‘Safety’ Concerns
Stephen Fry once again quits Twitter because of apparent safety issues. The actor and social media commentator said that he is quitting Twitter because he is currently filming “in a place whence I’ve been advised it is safest not to tweet.” Is it another publicity stunt or has he actually said goodbye to Twitter?
For those who don’t know who Fry is, he is one of the most followed (7.8 million followers) Twitter individuals. He is famous on Twitter for his witty puns and intellectual musings. He has been involved in major movie and series titles like Sherlock Holmes, V For Vendetta, The Hobbit, and Alice in Wonderland.
In his farewell tweet, he did mention that he would come back in December.
Closing down on Twitter while filming. In a place whence I've been advised it is safest not to tweet. See you December. Here goes…

Fry’s followers quickly started prejudging what he might be up to. Some of the followers, those who were Star Wars fans, linked this news to the possibility that he might be shooting scenes for the forthcoming Episode VII.
“You’re either filming in Parliament or a football club dressing room then. Good luck, see you in December,” tweeted one of his followers.
This is not the first time he has said to leave Twitter. In 2009, Fry threatened to leave Twitter because he felt there was “too much aggression and unkindness around.”
This news comes one month after Fry admitted that he has been battling depression throughout his life. In a question related to his feelings about himself, he replied that his self-esteem was at “absolute zero”.
“You think about death all the time even when you are not feeling suicidal. You are constantly aware of death, your own death and how welcome it would be. It’s not just a phase,” he told Australian TV.
“It won’t leave you it’s always there niggling away.”
Speaking on Channel 7’s Sunday Night, Fry also talked about his heavy use of cocaine. He admitted that he hated parties and he used to take cocaine because it helped him in attending such parties, and in talking with people.
Will he come back to Twitter where 7.8 million people await him? We will see in December.
