HTC Rapid Charger Gives 8 Hours Battery Life Within 15 Minutes
You know that helpless feeling when you urgently need your phone but thanks to all the Candy you had been Crushing the whole day, your phone has drained of battery power? Charging will take a long time, and you need to make sure your phone is working for two more hours? Yeah, we all have been there.
We all have also dreamed of a super charger that charges our phone quickly and to a decent battery life usage. And HTC has come up with one.
Universal USB charger powers up your HTC smartphone in a blink. Compatible with all HTC smartphones, the 15W travel charger powers up certain HTC models 40% faster than standard chargers by using Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 2.0 technology. – HTC Website
While the Rapid Charger works with any micro USB-charging handset, there are only certain models (which have Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 technology integrated) which will get to enjoy all benefits of the charger to the fullest. These devices include a few of HTC’s latest models:
- HTC One M8
- HTC One E8
- HTC One Remix
- HTC One M8 Harmon Kardon Edition
- HTC Desire Eye
According to HTC, the Rapid Charger can boost the smartphone’s battery by another 8 hours after as little as a 15 minute charge.
However, this feat is not the first one. Motorola launched a similar power booster, Turbo Charger, which uses the same Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology to give phones like Google’s Nexus 6 and Motorola’s Droid Turbo a rapid charge.
The Taiwanese smartphone maker for Android and Windows, was dominating the world till 2011, when Samsung, Apple and Google upped their game. Now with its market share staying below 4%, HTC is struggling to survive in the cruel society of better and unique smartphones.
After its release of the M8, the popularity did spike a little among those who want a standard sized screen, but the release was too late in this year to make judgments regarding its usage.
Releasing such beneficial accessories like the Rapid Charger is certainly a good move in the right direction, something which HTC has not been very bright in guessing generally. For a person who’s constantly found near sockets for charging her phone, this news has actually spurred me into considering buying an HTC smartphone as it at least guarantees good battery life and a quick boost to the power in no time.
HTC has yet to announce a price or release date for the Rapid Charger, although it’s already listed on the HTC website so it probably won’t be long until it’s in stores.
