Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro Is On Par With LG G3 and HTC One M8
We have seen many new companies in 2014 that launched high-end smartphones. Apple, HTC and Samsung used to be the only smartphone manufacturers, but those days are past. We have seen OnePlus, Xiaomi, and Huawei to be releasing flagship phones that gave serious competition to HTC and Samsung. Not only they gave competition but some of them succeeded in getting more sales in some regions too.
Latest company that launched a high-end smartphone is Lenovo — otherwise known for its ThinkPad and Yoga laptops. The smartphone named as “Vibe Z2 Pro” has Snapdragon 801 processor, which is the one used in flagship phones like HTC One M8 and LG G3.
Lenovo has given its latest smartphone a brushed aluminum unibody design having 6-inch 2K (2,560 x 1,440) display. The company has done a good job in making all the hardware compatible with each other. Having such clear display needs a powerful processor to provide pixel clear display, and Snapdragon 801 does a great job in this regard.
They have managed to make the body not much bigger than the display — something we loved about Nexus 5 which fitted 4.95 inch display on a 5.43 inch body. Vibe Z2 Pro being 6-inch falls in phablet category but its 7.7 mm (0.3 in) thickness makes it pocket friendly.
The best feature about Lenovo’s latest phone is its camera. It packs a powerful 16mp camera having all the latest features including optical image stabilization and anti-lens distortion.
The camera can be put into different modes — Smart mode, Ultra Night mode and Pro mode.
Smart mode detects the surroundings and adjusts its settings accordingly by taking into account the light settings of the environment and other things. Ultra Night mode is for low-light surroundings where the camera will set the settings to provide better picture quality despite of having low light. Pro mode offers full control over image tweaking features such as brightness, contrast, focus, ISO, and white balance.
Also, the device can record 4k video!!
Just like HTC, Samsung and other smartphone manufacturers that provide Android experience, Lenovo provides Android 4.4 KitKat with its own UI and other features under the name Vibe UI 2.0. According to Gizmag, the custom skin looks more like Samsung TouchWiz UI because of its bright and colorful display.
The competition in the smartphone industry is much high in 2014. Any company trying to penetrate this market will have to offer high-end specs at low prices. This was the reason behind all the hype created for OnePlus One and Xiaomi’s flagship phones that received good user response.
There are no details about the price and availability of the Vibe Z2 Pro from Lenovo’s side but it is known to available in silver, gold and black color.
